Let there be light!
I've been meaning to put this up here for long long time...

It's called Dans La Lune.
Here's a little extract about the name of installation from Rice Gallery.

Some friends were visiting from France, and one described speaking with her doctor about a medication. She had inquired if it would make her "dans la lune." When I asked her what that meant, she said, "dopey, drugged." Later I looked up the French idiom and found that it referenced daydreaming. "Il est dans la lune" can be translated as "He’s got his head in the clouds," or "He’s on another planet." Dans la Lune is a perfect title because in my work I try to create an imaginary place that relates to our longings for a better, grander existence.

Un mois plus tard...
One month later...
I've neglected this space for a while now. Time to fill it up with some musings.
For the last few days I may as well have had my gluteus maximus stuck to my spinny *IKEA desk chair.
I've been glued to it for hours on end working on my project for uni. We had to use Rhino and I think I actually strained my right hand/arm muscle from excessive clicking. Pleased to say that I've finished the digitising part and excessive clicking should be a thing of the past...for now.
It might sound a tad confuzzling, you might not even understand what I'll be saying in the next few lines, perhaps you will...
but here I go trying to tell you about this project called BODYSPACE.
The brief is to create a complex paper form that will include a light source to act like a lantern and to be worn somewhere on the body. The design is inspired by a natural process (and to top it off there is some sort of a 'rule' that governs the design).
Soak that in for a bit.
Don't get it?
They do say, pictures tell a thousand words.
Voilà, mon prototype..or rather parts of it.
Just a little 'fun-fact': as I was typing IKEA I made sure to capitalise every letter.
Here's my reasoning, apart from the fact that its just a great great great place to shop there's also a more 'grammatical' side to it.
Here comes the 'Did you know?' part.
IKEA is actually an acronym that is made up of the initials Ingvar Kamprad (the founder of IKEA) plus the letters of Elmtaryd and Agunnaryd (the farm and village where he grew up).
So....
Ingvar + Kamprad + Elmtaryd + Agunnaryd = IKEA!

It's been a looooooooooooooong time since I've typed anything here.
My two friends over at BIG PICTURE STUFF motivated me to atleast drop in a line.
(Do check out their blog-pretty amazing stuff.)
So anyway, I finally got to download this app by Missoni. YES Missoni.
It's free and I wanted to share its goodness here.
Here's ma première photo que j'ai 'Missonizée' ('Missonized') avec mon nouvel iPod touch.
(Can you guess what the original picture was? Hint: I use it for uni.)

The making of...
The second birthday card of the year for V & V.
If these two girls looked into the Magic Mirror, he'd tell them they're the fairest of them all.
Take a look at this snippet from their invitation and
vous serez d'accord avec moi (=you will agree with me).
Need I say more?
They're pretty wonderful that way :)
When I discovered this (thanks to like-minded beings out there who also were on the hunt for papery craft), I was soooooooo happy. 3D letters on their own are so nice.
Simple, yet effective :)
I've just realised I failed to take a 'final product' picture, hence the title for today's post: The making of...
