Animalia | Part I: The Plan

Change of plan. I'm going to step back from the shapes and use animals for my notebooks (like this^).

Potential candidates to make the covers in no particular order:
Zebra Equus burchelli
Black Rhinoceros Diceros bicornis
Lion Panthera leo
African Elephant Loxodonta africana
Carribean Flamingo Phoenicopterus ruber
Holstein-Fresian Cow Bos taurus
Dodo Didus ineptus
White-tailed Deer Odocoileus virginianus
Brown Bear Ursus arctos

Stay tuned for more.

TA DA!

This is where time is spent when one has 90 days of free time :)

And now here's the real thing.

As you can tell from the photos I have a certain bias towards the pocket pouch - definitely my favourite part. I'm feeling very colourful so far this year...wonder if that'll be the case when the cooler months come.

I'm already thinking about what to do for next year's diary since I don't have an 'expired' diary to deconstruct anymore.
Hmmmm...
But meanwhile I think I'll cover all my uni notebooks with triangles, circles, squares and trapeziums.

Decisions decisions

Which one shall I choose??????

Option One: plain white paper

Option Two: brown paper (bag-type) paper

For now I'll chop up shapes. If I have not received any suggestions I shall make both! And then we'll see which one looks best in real-life/off-the-screen.
Fingers crossed this all works with these papery cut-outs...

2 THOUSAND & 12

I decided to 'make' my own diary since I can never seem to find one that suits me ($$ wise and to my linking) What you see here is a Donna Hay freebie diary from 2008 under reconstruction.

So far...

Top to bottom: Front cover; monthly cover - incomplete; *pocket/pouch design

The rectangle represents where a clear window will be. Printing this would be nice but ... printers *nervous twitch* ...need I say more?  I designed in according to my 'paper stock' - I have all the colours I need in paper minus that mint green...I could've sworn  I had some left over pieces but...if not, I'll have to cheat... some paint mixing and some paper should do the trick (maybe..?)

More photos soon once this diary's complete...hopefully before this month's out - "I'm late! I'm late!"

OH and after that, another project in waiting and to be be revealed. I'm pretty excited.

First cards for the year

A couple of cards I made to be sent off to my aunties overseas.

More hand-made papery goods along the way.
